Occupational License Legal Services

A driver’s license can be suspended for a number of reasons. Driving with a suspended or invalid license is against the law. In order to drive for essential needs such as work, you will need to petition the Court for an Essential Needs/ Occupational License.

The Courts are pretty tough on granting an Essential Needs/ Occupational License. The law is pretty specific as to the requirements, and the Courts do not waiver from those rules.

Here are a few of the reasons your license may be invalid:

  • Habitual Violator of Traffic Laws
  • Driving While Intoxicated
  • Operating a vehicle with a suspended license
  • Evading arrest in a vehicle
  • Use of a fake ID
  • Purchasing Alcohol for a Minor
  • Possession or delivery of certain controlled substances

The length of suspension depends on:

  1. The nature of the offense,
  2. The age of the person, and
  3. Whether there have been prior contacts with law enforcement.
